Federal government strongly condemned the events that took place this afternoon outside the Territorio Santos Modelo stadium in the city of Torreón.

The events occurred outside the stadium rather than inside, as originally thought, meaning that no fans were hurt.

According to available information, the events resulted from an attack on municipal police in the municipality of Torreón.

The moment it was informed of these events, federal government, through the Secretariat of the Interior, established contact with the Coahuila government authorities in order to establish cooperation mechanisms to investigate events and bring those responsible to justice.

Federal government reaffirmed its unswerving commitment to helping state and municipal authorities fulfill their main responsibility of guaranteeing citizens’ security.
